CHICAGO MAN CHARGED WITH A FELONY FOR IMPERSONATING A LAWYER

CHICAGO-(AEAE)-A CHICAGO MAN CHARLES LAWSON IS CHARGED WITH FALSE IMPERSONATION OF A LAWYER. HE WAS JUST ARRESTED AFTER A COURTHOUSE CLERK NOTICED THAT HE WASN'T WRITING AN ILLINOIS ATTORNEY REGISTRATION AND DISCIPLINARY COMMISSION NUMBER ON HIS COURT FILINGS. A Illinois Cook County Sheriff's deputy started monitoring his court filings and the staff realized he wasn't licensed to practice law. He has served time in Illinois state prison for burglary, thief and shoplifting and criminal trespass. He appeared in court yesterday. His Bond was set at $250,000. None of the litigants who were represented by Lawson ever complained, many of which were found “not” guilty. The Deputy Administrator Attorney Robert Smith said, “It's rare to see someone without a day of law school being so successful at it”.

What Do You Have To Prove? There are two things you have to prove to be true in order to win a case of defamation of character in the court of law.
