CHICAGO-(AEAE)-DAVID HERRINGTON WAS NAMED AEAE LAWYER OF THE YEAR 2011 at a gala celebration two nights ago. Mr. Herrington is responsible for a Tennessee Criminal Appeals Court Decision v acating the 1985 felony murder conviction of a death row inmate Erskine Johnson. Kudos goes to Mr. David Herrington and the law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton for engaging in the most honorable practice of law, the pro bono work for establishing that indigent death row prisoners are in fact innocent. What Do You Have To Prove? There are two things you have to prove to be true in order to win a case of defamation of character in the court of law. First of all, you have to prove without a doubt that what was said or written about you is not true. Once you have proved that the statement is, in fact, false you have to prove that the other person said the false statement with the intent of causing you some form of harm.
