PATERNO KILLED BY PENN STATE TRUSTEES CHICAGO-(AEAE)-IN A RARE MOVE TODAY A SPOKESMAN FOR THE PEN STATE BOARD OF TRUSTEE ISSUED A STATEMENT APPOLIGIZING TO THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF JOE PATERNO. “If we had to do it again we should have allowed Coach Joe to finish the season. We now realize that by our premature actions and firing Coach Paterno that it took such a heavy toll on his 85 year old body that it killed him. To correct the record the Board of Trustees merely though, but were uncertain, that Coach Joe may have failed to take the knowledge of an alleged sex scandal to the appropriate authorities.” The Board of Trustee's also apologized to former assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky in view of the fact that the sexual abuse case against him is falling apart.
