CHICAGO-(AEAE)-A Russian Oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky sentenced to 14 years in prison given seven more years for theft and money laundering. The U.S Government claimed that the charge was politically motivated because Vladimir Putin believed that Khodorkovky was a threat to his political leadership. When the U.S. Government complained Putin compared Khodorkovk to Bernard Madoff and not to interfere with the Russian Legal System. A University of Chicago Professor, stated that “All governments make all judicial decisions based on political considerations, ie the BUSH v. GORE case involving the Florida Supreme Court appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court over the election of 2000. The U.S. Supreme Court voted strictly on party lines 5-4 for Bush. For that reason alone Bush was affirmed by the Court as President, even though Gore had more popular votes than Bush. Recently, Former Illinois Governor George Ryan 76, who had served 3 years and requested an early release to care for his dying wife, was denied on the grounds that he had to serve 3 more years 58-page ruling. But the real reason was it is not politically acceptable to release Ryan early because the family that lost 6 children over the unlawful sale of a truck drivers license, would not be popular. Another example of a political consideration in rendering a decision on the Former Governor Rod Blagojevich criminal case, Blogo who was found not guilty last fall on 24 of 25 counts of political corruption, is being retried this spring because of a Chicago Tribune Poll stating that a majority of citizens believe Governor Blogojevich should be retried. The Russians in sentencing Khodorkovsky to another 14 years is merely a Political decision by Putton letting the other Russian Oligarchs know who is the boss, and that they better be subservient to the Russian Government or they too will end up sitting next to Khodorkovky.” FULL STORY Mikhail Khodorkovsky sentenced to 14 years in prison There is no real thing as justice, every judicial decision is political." We should start taking bets. Will Leo get more or less than 14 years once he is convicted of the pending federal criminal charges against him?
