Chicago-(AEAE) THE AMERICANS FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF ATTORNEY ETHICS IN IT ANNUAL RATING OF LAWYERS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY RATES LONG & LEVIT LLP ATTORNEY JESSICA RUDIN MACGREGOR 1/2 STAR.
The Americans for the Enforcement of Attorney Ethics has been rating attorneys since 1974. The ratings are based upon information gleaned from the public records, client complaints, client comments. AEAE top rating is 5 stars.
Jessica Rudin MacGregor was recently charged with being a back alley bully in writing a alleged threatened letter to a pro se party threatening sanctions unless the pro se party with draws his certificate of service in a Illinois DuPage County Law suit Case No. 2017 L 001177 in which Jessica Rudin MacGregor had previously agreed to accept service of all of the parties that she was now demanding that the pro se party withdraw his certificate of service.
When the pro se party called attention to the other Long & Levit LLP partners, of the alleged frivolous letter that Jessica Rudin MacGregor sent to the pro se party, they all scoffed, at the pro se's communication, requesting that they take the necessary remedial action to correct the alleged misconduct of their partner Jessica MacGregor, they did nothing, and the following other partners of Long & Levit LLP have also earned a 1/2 star rating:
  • Ari A. Baruth,Jennifer A. Becker,Shane M. Cahill,Kathleen M. Ewins,Andrew M Massara,David S. McMonigle,Joseph P. McMonigle,Douglas J. Melton,Glen R. Olson,Jonathan R. Rizzardi,Steven Sharafian
  • John B. Sullivan,Jennifer W. Suzuki,Jeanette E. Traverso
None of the Long & Levit LLP attorneys could be reached for comment on this article. A spokes person for Long & Levit LLP claimed Jessica MacGregor is not a "back alley bully" that Jessica is a "supper Lawyer"  that all attorneys, who work for the Long and Levit, with the exception of one or two, are "super" lawyers.
The long and Levit attorneys categorically reject any attorney rating association "ratings" that does not find their attorneys to be the best in America. In particular Jessica MacGregor, who is considered by her peers to be the third or fourth "toughest" lawyer on California Street in San Francisco. If she was a "man" she would be considered the "toughest" lawyer in San Francisco, but she is only a woman, and cannot ever get that accolade.

LEGAL DISCLOSURE: Jessica Rudin MacGregor and her partners are not charged with any professional misconduct, malfeasance, unlawful conduct  here and are considered Innocent of any charges of professional misconduct until proven guilty by a court of law. Other peer rating associations rate Jessica and her partners as very highly qualified attorneys.  AEAE has a slightly different opinion and bases its first amendment and constitutional right to express its opinion and to  issue ratings to attorneys, in the same way that AVVO rates attorneys.      To Prove Defamation Case?
What Do You Have To Prove? There are two things you have to prove to be true in order to win a case of defamation of character in the court of law. First of all, you have to prove without a doubt that what was said or written about you is not true. Once you have proved that the statement is, in fact, false you have to prove that the other person said the false statement with the intent of causing you some form of harm.
The Fair Reporting Privilege is a defense to any claim of Defamation

The Fair Report Privilege applies to the information contained on this web site.

“[T]he fair report privilege has two requirements: (1) the report must be of an official proceeding; and (2) the report must be complete and accurate or a fair abridgment of the official proceeding. [Citation.] *** For a publication to be considered a fair abridgment, the report must convey to readers a substantially correct account of the official proceedings. [Citation.] A reporter is not privileged to make additions of his own that would convey a defamatory impression or to indict expressly or by innuendo the veracity or integrity of any of the parties. [Citation.] Finally, it is the accuracy of the summary, not the truth or falsity of the information being summarized, that is the benchmark of the privilege.
