CHICAGO-(AEAE)-A whistleblower is someone who exposes wrongdoing, fraud, corruption and/or waste. Taxpayers deserve an honest and efficient government. In 1991, then State Treasurer Pat Quinn, led the movement to enact a state whistleblower protection act.

The Illinois Whistleblower Act protects every citizen -- including state and local government employees -- when they blow the whistle on government corruption.

Illinois rewards citizens who blow the whistle.

In 2008, the Illinois Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act expanded the 1991 law to cover all levels of state government. What Do You Have To Prove? There are two things you have to prove to be true in order to win a case of defamation of character in the court of law. First of all, you have to prove without a doubt that what was said or written about you is not true. Once you have proved that the statement is, in fact, false you have to prove that the other person said the false statement with the intent of causing you some form of harm.
